We are Susan and John Norbury, and our cattery is also our home.  All of our kittens are raised underfoot, and enjoy lots of love and attention. They receive daily handling and are well socialized before going to their new forever home. Our goal is to produce healthy quality kittens that reflect the CFA breed standard.

In 2001 I decided I would like to own, and show a purebred cat. This news was something of a surprise to John, but he was not totally opposed to the idea, and suggested we attend a few cat shows to "just get the feel of things". Off we went to Memphis, Tennessee to attend our very first cat show, and it was here we met the Maine Coon breed. It did not take us long to become captivated with these big, sweet, laid-back cats.

In January 2003 we purchased our first Maine Coon, and later in the same month entered a show. We had a fun time--we met so many other exhibitors and soon realized these "cat people" were pretty nice. Many of these same people have become our good friends and remain a huge part of our social circle today.

Over the years we have added new cats, and they each have their own special story. Then in 2005 we had our first litter born here at Nucoonrizn. This was so exciting and I was so nervous, but thank goodness the mama cat seemed to know just what to do. I am happy to say I still feel the same wonderful anticipation and excitement when a new litter is on the way.
